Henry Hegarty

Managing Director

Henry along with his brother Gordon took over the family business from their father Gordon Snr in 1975 as it expanded to a new larger dealership premises at Slaney quarter. Over the years Henry has seen the company go from strength to strength taking on new brands and expanding to new premises, making it one of the most successful farm dealerships in the South East.

Henry oversees the day-to-day running of the business along with managing the finance and sales for the Tullow branch. He has a wealth of experience and product knowledge built up over his last 45 years of selling tractors and farm machinery.

Gordon Hegarty

Director

Gordon along with his brother Henry took over the family business from their father Gordon Snr in 1975 as it expanded to a new larger dealership premises at Slaney quarter. Since then Gordon has been running the After Sales department. His wealth of knowledge and experience with parts and service ensure customers are given peace of mind for their after sales service when purchasing both new and used machinery. Gordon works closely with our customers to ensure that all of the products we supply are backed by the highest standard of technical support

Jason Hegarty

Dealer Principal/Branch Manager

Jason is the third generation of the family to be involved in Gordon Hegarty & Sons. After leaving school in 2007 Jason began working full-time for the company while also studying part-time at Carlow Institute of Technology to obtain his Bachelor of Business Management.

Jason looks after the sales and day-to-day running of the Kilkenny Branch as well as co-ordinating all the marketing and digital activity for the business.

Carmel Byrne

Office Administrator

Carmel, sister of Henry and Gordon has been involved with the company since the early days. Carmel is responsible for the running of our accounts department, ensuring all financial records are up to date, while maintaining sales and purchase ledgers and making payments to suppliers.

Geraldine Hegarty

Office Administrator

Geraldine assists with the running of the accounts department for both the Tullow and Kilkenny branches.

Bridget Byrne

Office Administrator

Bridget joined Gordon Hegarty & Sons in 2018 on a part-time basis. She ensures all financial records are up to date, while maintaining sales and purchase ledgers for the Kilkenny branch.

Sean Minchin

Sales – Athy Branch

Sean joined the team in 2010, having previously worked for multiple well-known farm machinery dealers across the South East. He comes from a farming background and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of a huge array of prominent brands. Sean is well-known in the local farming community and has a loyal customer following.

Ger Kinsella

Service Technician/Sales Support

Ger joined the team in 2017. He is a qualified Agricultural Mechanic with over 20 years experience and is responsible for the running of the workshop in our Kilkenny branch. Ger works closely with our customers to ensure that all of the products we supply are backed by the highest standard of technical support. In recent times Ger has also supported sales within the Kilkenny region.

Tom Byrne

Stores Person

Tom joined the team in 2020. He is from a farming background and has been a great addition to the Parts and Service department. Tom’s product knowledge is a great benefit to his role and ensures he provides the highest level of customer service.

Tommy Harmon

Stores Person

Tommy is our longest serving staff member in our Kilkenny branch and has been with the company since the opening of the branch back in 2010. Tommy has worked in the farm machinery industry most of his life and has an unrivalled depth of knowledge of spare parts, ensuring the highest level of customer service.

James Thompson

Stores/Workshop Administrator

James originally undertook his Agricultural Mechanic qualification with us, working alongside our service team. After gaining experience across other industries, James returned to our Kilkenny branch in 2018. He is responsible for parts sales, with a particular focus on the Massey Ferguson brand. James also works on administration duties, including warranty and workshop invoicing.

Jimmy Southern

Service Technician

Jimmy has been with the company since 1996. Over the past 24 years Jimmy has become an integral part of the Gordon Hegarty and Sons brand and is known and well-respected by customers far and wide. Jimmy has a wide breadth of knowledge with all agricultural machinery but specialises in tractors, combine harvesters and balers.

Johnny Tunstead

Service Technician

Johnny has been with the company since 1995 and is a hugely valued member of the Gordon Hegarty and Sons team. Johnny has a huge knowledge of all brands of agricultural machinery but he specialises in tractors, sprayers and hedge cutters.

Paul O’Sullivan

Service Technician

Paul began working with Gordon Hegarty and Sons in 2017. He has a wealth of experience with operating agricultural machinery and since joining the team has honed his servicing skills to be a vital part of the service department.

Colm Blackmore

Service Technician

Colm joined the Kilkenny branch in 2020. He brings with him a huge wealth of knowledge of Massey Ferguson products and has proven to be a vital part of our service department.

Jim Lyng

Apprentice Service Technician

Jim joined the team in 2018. Working alongside our qualified technicians, Jim has gained valuable experience in the field and is a trusted member of the service team.
