Strength
All T Series feeders feature a robust twenty millimetre floor. HiSpec also incorporate vertical reinforcement to the underside of this floor. This helps to strengthen the floor from the vertical forces of feed being loaded into the machine. This feature and strength is unique to HiSpec.
The T Series feeder body is made from eight millimetre high-grade steel. The body is tapered to allow efficient mixing and to also maximise volume. The eight millimetre body is very resistant to wear and the top of the body is also tapered inwards which helps to brace the feeder and retain the natural inherent strength. The top of the feeder is fitted with an over-flow ring to prevent spillage.
Gearboxes
HiSpec uses Comer gearboxes as standard across our vertical feeder range. Comer Industries is a global leader in the design and production of advanced power transmissions and gearboxes. Established in Italy in the beginning of the 1970’s, Comer Industries has grown to become a major supplier to over 60 countries worldwide.
A robust PGA planter reducing gearbox is provided as standard for the auger rotation. The PGA gearboxes possess strong torque characteristics to ensure that the mixers cope with chopping and mixing effortlessly. Each gearbox is supplied with an independent oil reservoir. Service and maintenance is quick and convenient through an inspection hatch located on the auger.
A two speed gearbox is also fitted as standard on all T Series feeders. The two speed gearbox allows the auger to rotate at multiple speeds. The low speed setting allows smaller HP tractors to operate the mixers and is also used for restarting after overnight settling. Operators can choose the high speed setting to provide complete and rapid emptying of the mixer.
Mixing
The movement of the ration inside the feeder is critical to the final mix quality. To produce a smooth mixing process, HiSpec has developed a unique ‘Feed Motion’ for our augers. The augers in the T Series are motioning the feed in both a vertical and horizontal movement. This ‘Feed Motion’ helps the mix to move in a ‘Figure 8’ motion to create an even and homogeneous feed. The unique auger design allows any material to be added to the mix. The auger also lifts the ration up from the floor ensuring that the feed is in constant motion and mixed thoroughly.
For chopping, the augers are fitted with self-sharpening blades. These blades are mounted on 15mm support plates for increased strength. The chopping blades are adjustable through three different positions for increased or decreased cutting. Two counter plates positioned on the feeder body hold the feed or bale in-situ and this allows the rotating auger to chop the feed before mixing. The two counter plates are also adjustable for increased flexibility.
Load Weighing
Four Digi-Star weigh-cells as standard and an EZ3410 display provide an extremely accurate feed weight. The EZ3410 display comes with a faster micro-processor than previous models and an easy to read white back-light display.
The EZ3410 allows you to:
Build a number of recipes for multiple pens.
Choose 1 ingredient with 98 pens to 98 ingredients for 1 pen, or any combination between.
Enter ration by: animal number, percentage or load.
Utilise basic recipe and batching capabilities
Eliminate feed sheets
Tandem Axle Options
With increased land and time restraints, farmers want to complete their feeding in as short a time as possible. To enable shorter travel t
imes between farms and less wear on the feeder, a tandem axle can be fitted.
Tandem axles provide greater comfort and less stress when travelling with a load. Options are available in rear steering and non-steering. Rear steering axles provide extra manoeuvrability around your yard. Non-steering axles ensure tyres are spaced closer together to reduce tyre wear and axle strain.

Gearbox & PTO
TWO SPEED GEARBOX
A two speed gearbox is fitted to all feeders 14m³ or greater. This allows the operator to place a lower HP tractor on the feeders. The feeder can also be restarted in a low setting after over-night settling. The two speed gearbox is optional on sizes 12m³ and smaller where adequate HP is not available.
High and low setting is engaged on the gearbox through a manual handle. A push /pull cable can be provided to allow the operator to change speed from the tractor cab. A hydraulic changeover can also be specified for changeover on the two speed gearbox.
WIDE ANGLE PTO
To allow increased manoeuvrability around your farm and eliminate the need to stop and start the PTO at regular intervals a wide angle PTO can be fitted. A wide angle PTO will allow a tighter turning circle than a standard PTO. This can help you move around your yard quicker and also reduce the stress from having to engage the PTO constantly.

Hydraulic Functions
HYDRAULIC CHUTE
A hydraulic chute allows independent control of the chute from the discharge door. The chute can be raised or lowered as required via a hydraulic ram. This allows the operator greater control where there is multiple feed-out heights on the farm.
HYDRAULIC COUNTER KNIVES
Hydraulic counter knives can be specified to allow a faster feed-out after chopping. The counter knives can be pushed inwards during mixing to allow the auger to cut the feed. Once satisfactory cutting has been achieved the knives can be withdrawn to allow a faster feed-out.
Jack Options
Control hitch pick-up height.
HYDRAULIC JACK
For use on tractors without a conventional pick-up hitch,
a hydraulic jack can be fitted to raise and lower the feeder
for connection to the tractor.
MANUAL HYDRAULIC JACK
The manual hydraulic jack uses a manual handle to pump oil into the jack to raise the drawbar of the feeder. When the drawbar needs to be lowered, a valve is opened to allow the oil to flow back to the reservoir.

Magnets
INTERNAL MAGNETS
Internal magnets can be fitted to the inside of the feeder body. This has the benefit of catching dangerous metallic objects that may be present inside of the feed mix. The magnets are hinged and open outwards for easy cleaning.
DISCHARGE CHUTE MAGNETS
Magnets may also be fitted to each discharge chute to catch metallic objects that may be present in the mix. The magnets are extremely strong and are fitted across the width of the feed-out chute. As the feed is being discharged, the magnets will hold and foreign metallic objects. The magnets can be easily cleaned after feeding.
Mineral Options
MINERAL CHUTE
An external mineral chute to the feeder body. Minerals can be placed into the feeder through the chute. The chute is fitted with a lid to prevent outward spillage.
MOLASSES PIPE
Boost animal intake with molasses added to your feed ration through an inlet pipe placed on the feeder body. The molasses pipe is fitted with a pivoting lid that allows it to be closed when not in use
Strawblower
The HiSpec Straw Blower attachment is used for bedding and cubicle sheds. It can be used on any size vertical auger machine and will blow straw up to 20 metres to the right hand side of the feeder. You have instant control at your fingertips with all functions operated via an electric controller. Accurate spreading is achieved via adjustment in the two stage chute which will rotate laterally through 30º.
Upon loading of the straw bale, the vertical auger begins cutting the bale and passes it to the high speed flywheel. The design of the flywheel produces a powerful blow and an efficient clean out of the blower housing. All shapes and sizes of straw bales can be used.
The blower can also be used for feeding into high troughs, round feeders or over high walls. It is fitted with a two speed gearbox, low speed for feeding and high speed for straw blowing.
Tandem Axles
ROCKING AXLE (16m³ maximum non-steering):
For feeders up to 16m³ that require tandem axles for road-work, the rocking axle remains a popular choice. The rocking axle features independent movement on each side of the feeder. The rocking axle allows the feeder to travel over uneven surfaces. This greatly increases operator comfort. The rocking axle is only available in non-steering format.
PARABOLIC AXLE (non-steering):
For improved comfort and minimal fuss a non-steering parabolic axle can be fitted to larger T Series feeders. The non-steering option allows the operator maximum benefits of a comfortable journey without the maintenance associated with steering axles. The tyres on the non-steering axle are spaced closer together to reduce tyre drag and excessive wear. The parabolic axle provides great comfort when travelling on the road
PARABOLIC AXLE (steering):
For maximum comfort and manoeuvrability a tandem steering axle can be fitted to larger T Series feeders. The steering allows the operators to turn easier around his yard. The tyres are spaced further apart to allow tighter turning circles than the non-steer option. The parabolic axle also allows maximum comfort for travelling on public roads. For reversing, the rear steering must be locked from the tractor to avoid excessive tyre and axle wear.
MAINTENANCE
CENTRAL GREASING
For easier maintenance and those hard to reach places, we
recommend the addition of a central greasing bank on the
side of the feeder. The central greasing bank will service all
greasing points on the tandem axle. This allows the operator
to perform time consuming maintenance in minutes.
BRAKES
AIR BRAKES
For increased braking power and improved
travelling comfort, air brakes can be fitted
to the tandem axles. Air over hydraulic
brakes will allow the feeder to be used on
any tractor.
